Unsolved Dayton Homicides
Angela Hanaway On June 10, 2008 the partially clothed, badly decomposed body of an unknown female was located in the Mad River, near the 2300 block of Dayton Rd. The body was later identified as Angela Hanaway who was missing out the City of Springfield. An autopsy showed that Angela died a very violent death and had been in the water for some time. To date, no viable suspects have been identified in this case.
Scott Buckl On 01/13/1973, five year old Scott Buck, his mother, Gloria Buck and his sister, Tracy Buck were found murdered inside their residence by a neighbor.
Paula Payne On the morning of 08/09/1977, shortly after 7:00am, Paula Payne left her Manhattan Ave. home for her summer job at the Dayton Museum of Natural History. After Paula failed to show up for work, family and co-workers searched the route Paula would walk to work. Paula's body was found naked in a wooded area.
Gloria Buck On 01/13/1973, twenty-six year old Gloria Buck and her children, Tracy Buck and Scott Buck were found murdered inside their residence by a neighbor.
Jillian Miles According to the Dayton Police Department, Jillian Miles was murdered on 02/19/2013.
Tracey Buck On 01/13/1973, six year old Tracy Buck, her mother, Gloria Buck and her brother, Scott Buck were found murdered inside their residence by a neighbor.
Travis Foley According to the Dayton Police Department, Travis Foley was murdered on 10/31/2014.
Phillip C. Stohr According to the Dayton Police Department, Philip C. Stohr was murdered on 06/11/2009.
John H. Lewis, Jr. According to the Dayton Police Department, John H. Lewis Jr. was murdered on 09/24/2010.
Tearonn Danile According to the Dayton Police Department, Tearonn Daniel was murdered on 03/17/2005.
Marylou Grant Marylou Gant was stabbed to death on 02/14/1980 in Huber Heights, OH. There was no forced entry into her home and she was alone the night she was killed. Devin Sheppard On September 14th 2011, at 11:11 am, 28 year old Devin L. Sheppard was shot in the chest while visiting a female friend at 7431 Gardenside Dr. in Butler Township. Mr. Sheppard managed to get to a neighboring home before collapsing, and was transported to Miami Valley Hospital, where he was later pronounced dead. At this time there have not been any arrests made. Detectives believe there may be others who may have information about this shooting that have not yet come forward.
Samuel Hughes On December 12th, 2006 around 2:15pm, 31 year old Samuel Hughes was found unresponsive inside his home. Upon further investigation it was determined that Samuel Hughes died of blunt force trauma.
Donny Terry, Jr. Donny Terry Jr. was shot in the area of 1247 Riverview while driving his gold 1980 Buick Regal and then crashed into a pole on 02/17/1995. There were several witnesses around the vehicle when it crashed who tried to talk to him but he was hard to understand. He later died at the hospital. Marvin Bibb Marvin Bibb was shot and murdered in front of his residence, 2004 Dewitt Avenue, on 06/19/1995 at approximately midnight. He was working on his car which was a white Thunderbird when, as witnesses described two subjects came up, shot him and fled the scene. Carl Spears On 11/11/06 at 0347 hours, a loud car alarm was heard at the rear of 704 Brooklyn Ave., Dayton, OH. Witnesses observed a vehicle on fire along with a nearby garage engulfed in flames. Carl Spears' body was found burned inside of the Cadillac Escalade. Carl Underwood On 07/22/1987, the body of Carol Underwood was recovered in a vacant lot at the rear of 8 Norwood, Dayton, OH. She died from blunt force trauma. Anna Hilaras Anna Hliaras was murdered at her residence at 903 West Grand Avenue, Dayton, OH on 08/09/1981. Anna was very involved in the "Neighborhood Association Crime Watch".
