CUYAHOGA COUNTY — Police are investigating how an 11-year-old boy was stabbed at a haunted house attraction in northern Ohio.
According to WOIO in Cleveland, the incident happened at the Cuyahoga County Fairgrounds on Sep. 18 around 8:15 p.m.
Berea police were called to respond to reports of a boy with a stab wound to the foot at the 7 Floors of Hell attraction.
The victim and a family friend who a was with him said a roaming outside actor approached them when they arrived, WOIO reported. The actor was using a large knife as a prop and allegedly “scraped the knife on the ground and began to stab the area near them.
The actor then allegedly accidentally cut through the victim’s shoe and cut his left toe.
WOIO reported that staff members rendered first aid and further medical attention was refused.
The victim proceeded through the haunted house attraction.
Police confiscated the knife from the actor, who told police he brought the real knife from home, instead of using a prop knife. WOIO cited the police report, where the 22-year-old actor said he “had no intention of hurting anyone with it.”
