The Springfield City School District and our entire community has been struck by tragedy this morning. We are deeply saddened by the terrible news we received this morning that we have lost one of our Springfield High School students, as well as a former student, in an automobile accident early this morning.
We have our district crisis team at SHS providing counseling for students, family members, and staff as we work our way through our grief and shock. We will continue to provide this support as long as it is needed.
We have also learned that the SHS victim has siblings who attend middle and elementary schools in our district. Additional counselors will be on hand to provide counseling for these schools as well. We will continue to provide support to those in our entire district as may be needed. Those in need of counseling should contact their school principal, teacher, counselor, or call 937‐505‐2805.
