UPDATE March 19: The victim has been identified as a 17-year-old, according to a police report.
UPDATE @ 5:08 p.m. March 18: One person was shot in the neck in what police are investigating as a robbery gone bad during an apparent dice game.
The victim Dayton Sgt. Randy Beane described as a younger male had been taken to Miami Valley Hospital by another citizen before police and a medic unit arrived.
Beane said the injury is said to be non-life threatening, but that police had no information about the victim’s condition.
Beane said police and a medic unit were dispatched to the 4400 block of Germantown Pike, at the Whitney Young apartments, on a report of a shooting.
Police have no information about a suspect, Beane said, noting that the victim and a witness taken into custody after trying to run from the scene are being uncooperative.

Deputies in Jefferson Twp. and Dayton police are responding to the report of a shooting on Germantown Pike.
Officers were dispatched at approximately 3:15 p.m. for a shooting in the 4800 block of Germantown Pike.
