The Montgomery County Coroner’s Office released the identity of the man who died – 38-year-old Damion R. Gay, of Dayton.
UPDATE @ 6 a.m.:
Dayton Police say one man is dead and two others are injured after a crash on Nicholas Road.
Officers believe the driver, identified as an adult man, was thrown from the car when it hit a pole in the 3900 block of Nicholas Road around 1:30 a.m. Sunday.
That man was pronounced dead at the scene.
Two other passengers were injured in the crash, but their injuries are believed to be non-life threatening, and were taken to the hospital for treatment according to Dayton Police Sgt. Justin Poe.
Speed is considered a factor in the crash. Officers say further tests will determine if alcohol or drugs were factors as well.
It is unknown if anyone was wearing seat belts at the time of the crash.
Poe says the roadway was reopened shortly after 5 a.m. and the crash remains under investigation.

Police say one person has died in a crash on Nicholas Road in Dayton Sunday morning.
Crews were dispatched to the 3900 block of Nicholas Road around 1:30 a.m. Sunday morning on a reported crash with entrapment. Officers say one person was pronounced dead at the scene.
It is unknown if there are any other injuries in the crash.
