MONTGOMERY COUNTY — Montgomery County officials are reviewing the first wave of applications for $10,000 small business grants, and are looking to spend even more money.
Small businesses can now apply to the county’s newly-commissioned Office of CARES Act, which is in charge of distributing $40 million worth of $10,000 small business grants.
Montgomery County Communications Director Brianna Wooten told WHIO Thursday, about 250 businesses have applied for grant money so far, but the county hopes to handle a lot more applications.
“We really, really want small businesses in our community to apply for these grants,” Wooten said. “It’s extremely important that we spend this money in our community now, because we have until the end of the year, December 31st, to spend this money in the community.”
Eligibility requirements include:
- The business must have 30 or fewer employees
- Must have less than $1 million gross revenue
- Must be located in Montgomery County
- Must not have already received federal assistance during the pandemic
Full eligibility requirements are available at mcohiocares.org, which is also where businesses can apply
