Man walks out on 20-shot bar tab in Dayton, arrested on bus

A man tried to walk out on a bar tab for 20 shots of alcohol at Stage Door on North Jefferson Street Thursday.

Dayton police were called to investigate the alleged theft.

Bar staff told police that a male, age 34, came in with a friend, opened a tab and ordered 20 shots throughout the night, including vodka and Jägermeister.

When the bartender went to go find the man to pay his $109.75 tab, the man ran out of the bar and fled the area, according to the Dayton police incident report.

While officers were investigating they were informed that a man matching the description of the suspect was also wanted by the U.S. Marshals and that he had gotten on a bus headed to the Gateway Men's Homeless Shelter.

The officers located the bus and stopped it at Nicholas Road and Danner Street. The suspect was removed from the bus by police.

Timmothy W. Riley, 34, will face a charge of  theft, according the police report. He was issued a summons to appear in court.
