Xenia school levy passes by single vote, recount triggered

XENIA — One of two Xenia Community Schools renewal levies passed by a single vote, requiring a recount.

When results from the Greene County Board of Election are combined with those from Warren County, where the school district reaches, the levy passes by one vote.

The 0.5 percent income tax renewal levy passed with 6,302 votes for it and 6,301 voting against it.

Due to how close the results are a recount is required, according to Greene County Board of Election Director Alisha Beeler.

When the recount will take place is determined by the Secretary of State’s Office, Beeler said.

We will continue to monitor this story and update you once the date of the recount is released.
