Xenia football coach named state D-II Coach of the Year

XENIA — An area football coach has been named co-coach of the year by the Ohio Prep Sportswriters Association.

Maurice Harden, head football coach at Xenia High School, was named one of the Division II football coaches of the year.

Harden has been the head football coach of the Buccaneers since February 2021.

He led the team to a 10-0 regular season for the first time in the school’s history.

The team lost in the first round of the Ohio High School Athletic Association Playoffs to Little Miami 27-24.

Seniors Jamell Smith, Tremell Wright and Trei’Shaun Sanders were also named first-team all-state by OPSWA.
