Wrong-way crash that killed Wright State student on I-675 goes before grand jury

BEAVERCREEK — The case for the wrong-way crash that led to the death of Wright State student Paige Patrick went before a grand jury in Greene County Wednesday, Beavercreek police said.

Police suspect alcohol was a factor on the part of Ronald Myer, who police said was driving the wrong way from 675 North to 844 on June 21 when he smashed into a car driven by Wright State student Paige Patrick, said Capt. Jeff Fiorita.

Myer has not been formally charged for the crash, according to records.

Police said they have video that shows the 53-year-old Wright-Patterson Air Force Base civilian employee going the wrong way on the 844 ramp from I-675 shortly before the crash.

Greene County Prosecutor Stephen K. Haller sought the public’s help in July to determine what Myer may have been doing prior to the crash.

Beavercreek police said they hope to learn the results of the grand jury hearing by the end of the week.
