According to the release, receiving the bronze award means that Wright State is in the top third of military-friendly schools. Last year, over 1,200 colleges participated in the military-friendly survey and only 750 schools received the designation.

Wright State also said the university facilitates priority registration for veterans and active-duty students along with advocates for military students to help resolve any issues that may emerge for students during their career at the university.

“It’s nice to get the designation, it’s better to be a point of contact for student veterans and provide support,” said Dr. Seth Gordon, Director of the Veteran and Military Center. “I’m really grateful for our designation as Military Friendly. I’m much more grateful for the work we do every day.”

Gordon said that Wright State will be pursuing the Military Friendly Spouse designation next year.
