Woman pleads guilty to involuntary manslaughter in fiancé’s fatal shooting

HARRISON TWP. — A Dayton woman accused of shooting and killing a man she called her fiancé pleaded guilty Monday to involuntary manslaughter and domestic violence.

Jessica L. Grieco, 33, is scheduled to be sentenced Nov. 29, according to a Montgomery County Common Pleas Court official.

The charges stemmed from the March 21, 2017, shooting death of 32-year-old Peter Underwood.

Grieco told 911 dispatchers that she accidentally shot Underwood while trying to unload a gun to keep him from killing himself.

She originally was charged with reckless homicide, involuntary manslaughter and domestic violence, to which she pleaded not guilty in August 2017.

She was arrested approximately six hours later.

Grieco was previously convicted of domestic violence in Butler County.
