RIVERSIDE — Ohio Department of Transportation cameras captured the moments before a deadly crash involving a wrong-way driver on State Route 4 Sunday night.
The crash happened in the area of SR-4 near Harshman Road shortly before 10:30 p.m., according to initial reports.
Ohio State Highway Patrol told News Center the crash happened when a Ford Fusion was going south in the northbound lanes of SR-4 and hit a Jeep Renegade operated by Kayla Ramey, 31, of Saint Paris, and a Subaru Forester operated by Jeffrey Nielson, 47, of Akron
After colliding with the two cars, the at-fault car “went off into the median and burned,” OSP said.

Authorities said they are still working to identify the wrong-way driver, who was killed in the crash.
Ramey sustained serious injuries and was taken to Miami Valley Hospital. Nelson had minor injuries and was treated on scene, according to OSP.
Monday, Ramey was released from the hospital, according to a MVH spokesperson.
At this time it is not known why the driver was traveling in the wrong direction.
