As News Center 7 previously reported, Versailles police, fire, and Darke County deputies were called to the 9300 block of Jamison Road on reports of a motorcycle crash.

When authorities arrived on the scene they found a motorcycle in a field with a single driver, Monnin, who was pronounced dead, according to Sheriff Mark Whittaker.

An initial investigation find that a 2008 Yamaha motorcycle was traveling eastbound on Jamison Road when it failed to navigate a slight curve in the road and traveled off the side of the road, into a ditch. Monnin was thrown from the motorcycle.
