UPDATE: SR 121 reopens near Greenville after crash causes natural gas leak

GREENVILLE TWP. — State Route 121 has reopened south of Greenville after a crash caused a natural gas leak Thursday morning, according to the Darke County Sheriff’s Office.

The crash was reported on state Route 121 at Eidson Road in Greenville Twp. just before 7 a.m. Thursday.

The driver of the car, only identified by deputies as a woman, suffered minor injuries after crashing into the natural gas line.

Vectren crews were requested to contain the gas leak and deputies shut down state Route 121 in both directions while crews worked to repair the leak.

One house near the intersection was evacuated while crews were working on the gas line.

Dispatchers said the roadway was reopened to traffic before 9:30 a.m.
