PIQUA — A 74-year-old man was transported to Miami Valley Hospital after being struck by a vehicle on the 600 block of West High Street Saturday evening.
He is now in the intensive care unit (ICU), but his current condition is unknown.
According to Lt. Jeremy Weber with the Piqua Police Department, the man was lying in the street and was “somewhat conscious” when they arrived at the scene.
Initial reports from witnesses indicate that he was crossing the road and was struck by a vehicle that was heading East Bound on High Street.
The vehicle remained on the scene, and the driver and other occupants did not suffer from any injuries.
