UD, Wright State to receive part of nearly $1.6M grant for cyber-security research

OHIO — Monday, U.S. Senator Sherrod Brown announced the University of Dayton and Wright State University are two schools that received grant funding for science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) research.

The University of Dayton will receive $174,985 for research on building reliable and secure cyber-physical systems, according to Brown’s team.

$174,943 will go to Wright State University for research on new ways to build cyber-attack detection systems.

“We unleash more American innovation when we nurture all Ohio talent,” Brown said. “This award will help Southwest Ohio Universities advance our knowledge and continue Ohio’s leadership in scientific innovation.”

The University of Cincinnati was awarded two grants totaling over $1,249,911. The money will be for research on a video quality assessment project and adjustment software prototype for networked camera systems. And also research on mineral oxidation to better understand the potential mechanisms of microbe electrode technologies.
