2 teens dead following crash on U.S. 68 in Clark County

CLARK COUNTY — Two teenagers were killed in a crash on U.S. 68 near Springfield Friday afternoon.

Taylor Haffner, 17, and Osman Diaz, 17, both Springfield, were pronounced dead at the scene of the crash, according to a release from the Ohio State Highway Patrol.

Preliminary investigation shows while northbound traveling on U.S. Route 68, Haffner traveled off the road into the median and into the southbound lane of U.S. Route 68 and struck another vehicle.

The two occupants of the other vehicle were taken to Kettering Health Main Campus with non-life threatening injuries, Ohio State Highway Patrol released.

U.S. 68 is back open at State Route 41 after being closed for several hours.

The crash remains under investigation.

The students attended Global Stem Academy in Springfield, the school posted Friday evening on social media.

The school will be holding a vigil Sunday night at 6:00 p.m.

Counselors will be available as well.
