MEDINA COUNTY — An Ohio State Highway Patrol (OSHP) Trooper rescued an abandoned dog at a rest area last month.

On August 23, an OSHP trooper was doing a routine check of a rest area when they found an abandoned puppy inside a crate along I-71 in Medina County, according to a social media post from the OSHP.

The OSHP shared body camera footage of the rescue. The puppy was inside a crate with a piece of cardboard over the top.
“Yeah, we’ll get you out of here, okay? Someone left you? It’s okay,” the trooper can be heard telling the puppy.
The trooper played with the puppy before placing him inside his cruiser and took it to Medina County SPCA.
