Teen charged in Richmond shooting that leaves other teen dead

RICHMOND, Indiana — A Richmond teenager has been charged with reckless homicide after a 17-year-old was shot and killed Monday afternoon in what has been described as an accidental shooting.

According to our partners at Kicks96, the 17-year-old suspect called 911 and said he took the magazine out of a gun, but it went off, accidentally striking the victim, identified as Tyler Winfrey, 17.  The shooting happened at an apartment in the 2100 block of Grand Boulevard.

The suspect, who has not been identified, then went to another home a couple blocks away and waited for police to arrive.
