2 involved in Huber Heights crash where pole goes through car identified

UPDATE @ 10:55 p.m. (March 3):

The two people who were involved in the crash that struck a utility pole early Friday morning in the 4700 block of Taylorsville Road have been identified.

Quenton Williams, 27, is listed in good condition and the passenger, Thomas Kennedy, 25, is listed in serious condition, according to a Miami Valley Hospital spokesperson.

Their SUV hit a pole, then rolled and landed on its top, causing over 1,800 people to lose power.

UPDATE @ 5 a.m: Two people were transported to area hospitals after a piece of the power pole that their vehicle struck ended up going through the car Friday morning.

OTHER LOCAL NEWS: Car slams into Family Dollar in Dayton

Crews were dispatched to the 4700 block after the car slammed into the pole and ended up on its top around 2:15 a.m., per initial reports.

The occupants, whose names were not released, were hospitalized on unknown conditions.

Dayton Power & Lights personnel were called to the scene to tend to the power pole, which is broken in multiple places.

The crash caused over 1,800 people to experience a power outage in Miami County as a result of the power pole damage.

Currently, fewer than 600 customers are without power, according to the outage map.

“Additional crews are on the way to the scene and power to all customers is anticipated to be restored by 8 a.m.”, said Kelly Millhouse, Director of Operations for DP&L.

Taylorsville Road is partially blocked near Timbercrest Drive, with drivers being able to navigate around crews on scene to go through the area.
