DAYTON — The Combined Agency OVI Task Force of Montgomery will be operating a pair of sobriety checkpoints in the City of Dayton tonight.

The first will occur in the 2300 block of Stanley Avenue while the second is taking place at the 1400 block of Wayne Avenue, a Dayton Police spokesperson said.
The checkpoints will run between 6:30 p.m. and 11:30 p.m. tonight.
The first checkpoint will run from 6:30-8:30 p.m. and the second checkpoint will run from 8:30- 11:30 p.m.
Dayton Police officers will be working with Ohio State Highway Patrol troopers, Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office deputies, and officers from the Combined Agency Task Force on conducting these OVI checkpoints, according to the spokesperson.
They will be checking drivers for alcohol and drug impairment.

The OVI Task Force will be conducting four OVI checkpoints this weekend across Montgomery County.
OVI checkpoints and enhanced patrols on and around the Fourth of July weekend are an effort by law enforcement agencies to deter and apprehend impaired drivers, the spokesperson said.
They said the deadliest crashes occur at the start and throughout the holiday weekends.
