Some West Carrollton residents may have discolored water this week; here’s why

WEST CARROLLTON — Some West Carrollton residents may notice discolored water this week.

The city will begin its yearly test of fire hydrants starting April 3, Monday through Friday between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m., according to a social media post by the city.

The fire department marks hydrants that have been tested with yellow paint.

Hydrants are flushed to make sure they are working in the event of a fire, the city said.

During testing, some residents may notice discolored water coming from their faucets or washing machines. The city suggested running cold water until it clears.

More information about the flushing can be found here.
