DAYTON — Sinclair Community College has received a grant from the Ohio Department of Higher Education (ODHE) to support foster youth education.
They were awarded $15,000 in funding to support fifteen former foster youth who are interested in pursing a short-term certificate in Nurse Aid Training.
The program is designed to take less than one year and will provide students the opportunities and skills needed for a career path.
“It’s our responsibility to ensure that every student has equal access to education and the opportunity to meet their full potential,” said President Dr. Steve Johnson. “There is already so much that we do to support students that have self-identified as formerly in foster care. This additional funding will allow us to bolster our existing efforts and we are extremely grateful.”
