FIRST REPORT:

One man was killed and another was injured in a double shooting at Rick’s Jazz Club early this morning.

Officers were patrolling the area when security from the establishment flagged the officers down around 3:10 a.m.

One victim died on the scene, and a second was taken to Miami Valley Hospital with injuries considered life threatening said Dayton Police Sergeant Doug George.

George reported that police were at Rick’s Jazz Lab last week regarding guns found in the parking lot.

Two vehicles, a silver car and a red SUV, were being towed as part of the investigation into the shooting.

George said that there was no information about what led up to the shooting, but reported that a double homicide occurred at the same location about a year and a half ago.
