Shooting breaks out at high school football game in Groveport

GROVEPORT — Friday night, a high school football stadium was forced to evacuate after gunshots were fired at Groveport Madison High School.

Our news partners at WBNS in Columbus report that two people have been detained in connection to the shooting.

According to police, some people who left the stadium got into a fight in the parking lot of the career center, where shots were fired.

Groveport Police Chief Casey Adams told WBNS no one was shot.

Groveport is a suburb of Columbus, located just east of the city.

The Franklin County Sheriff’s office says dispatchers first got calls of shots fired just after 9:00 p.m.
