Family, friends mourn OSHP motor carrier inspector killed in I-75 crash

ARCANUM — The funeral services for an Ohio State Highway Patrol motor carrier inspector Kimra J. Skelton took place Wednesday morning.

Skelton, 49, of Arcanum, was killed on duty last week in a crash on Interstate 75 in Troy.

She was parked in a crossover on I-75 just north of state Route 41 around 6:45 a.m. Nov. 27 when a Ford F-250 driven by a Kettering man struck her vehicle.

Skelton, who joined the patrol in October 2005, was pronounced dead at the scene.

She is survived by her husband Brian of 26 years, their children, son Cole and daughter Macy, and numerous other relatives and friends.

A four-hour funeral visitation was held Tuesday night at the Arcanum Fieldhouse, 310 N. Main St., Arcanum, and the funeral services started at 10 a.m. Wednesday, also at the fieldhouse, with arrangements handled through the Kreitzer Funeral Home.
