Springfield man identified as driver killed after truck overturns on SR 235 near Fairborn

GREENE COUNTY — UPDATE @ 3:32 p.m.:

A driver is dead after a bulk truck overturns state Route 235 near Fairborn Tuesday morning, Ohio State Highway Patrol confirms.

The crash was reported on state Route 235 east of Trebein Road around 11 a.m. involving a semitrailer that overturned and was on its side just after 11 a.m., according to emergency scanner traffic.

The driver, later identified as Julian Hill, 68, of Springfield, was heading northbound on SR 235 when he drove off the right side of the road and overturned. He was driving a 2006 Kenworth semi-truck and trailer, according to troopers.

There were no other injuries reported and no other vehicles were involved in the crash.

Troopers on scene said it appeared Hill was wearing his seatbelt at the time of the crash.

It is unknown at this time what the truck was hauling.

The crash has shut down state Route 235 in both directions for several hours.
