JEFFERSON TOWNSHIP — At least one person is dead after a crash in Jefferson Township Tuesday afternoon.

Just before 4 p.m., Jefferson Township crews were alerted of a crash near the intersection of Farmersville West Carrollton Road and Germantown Pike, according to Montgomery County regional dispatch.

The crash involved a sedan and pickup truck that were traveling northbound on State Route 4, Capt. Andy Flagg with Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office said.

Flagg said the sedan rear-ended the pickup truck, picking it up off the ground, and the two cars traveled together for a short time.

The two cars separated and the sedan spun out, hit a pole and landed on its side, Flagg said.

The driver of the sedan was pronounced dead; the driver of the pickup driver did not sustain any injuries, Flagg said.

We are working to learn what led up to the crash and the identity of those who died in the crash, pending notification of next of kin.

We will update this story as new information becomes available.
