Semi-truck goes over I-75 bridge in Shelby County, injures driver

SHELBY COUNTY — A semi-truck drove over a bridge on the interstate in Shelby County Tuesday morning.

The Ohio State Highway Patrol and Anna fire were dispatched to Interstate 75 southbound near Meranda Road at 6:37 a.m. on reports of a semi-truck that went over a bridge, Shelby County Dispatch stated.

When firefighters arrived, they confirmed that a semi-truck drove over the bridge, dispatch informed. The cabin was detached and the trailer open following the single-vehicle crash.

CareFlight was placed on standby during the response; however, their services were later cancelled after medics determined that the male victim did not require transport via medical helicopter, dispatch said.

The semi-truck’s driver did report injuries and was subsequently transported to Wilson Memorial Hospital, dispatch for Ohio State Highway Patrol stated.

The Ohio State Highway Patrol led the investigation to the crash.
