Schools returning after winter break implement new mask requirements

Correction: A previous version of this story indicated Fairborn City Schools were going to remote learning when returning to classes Monday. That was incorrect and was information from 2021. Fairborn City Schools will have in-person learning when their quarter starts on Jan. 3, 2022.

Some school districts are asking students and staff to wear masks again due to an increase in COVID-19 cases across the state.

The following districts are requiring masks/ extending remote learning for some students:

  • Kettering City Schools: Requiring masks for students and staff until mid-January.
  • Oakwood City Schools: Requiring masks for students and staff until January 30.
  • Centerville City Schools: Expected to continue to wear masks as well.
  • Troy City Schools: Masks will be recommended but not required. However, masks will still be required while riding the bus, according to the district.
  • West Carrollton Schools: Masks required for students, staff and visitors.
  • Jefferson Local Schools: Masks required for students, staff and visitors.
