Salvation Army blames lack of workers, after-hours dumping for giant pile of junk

MIAMI TWP. — A donation pile more than six feet tall outside the Salvation Army in Miami Twp. is causing an eyesore.

It’s not just clothes and furniture. A fridge, full of food that’s been expired for months, was dumped right outside the Salvation Army doors.

Administrators blame the huge pile of junk on a lack of drivers to pick up and drop off at the Salvation Army warehouse, a lack of people working in the actual stores and people who are dumping their junk on the property after hours. These factors slow down the cleanup process, they said.

A spokesperson with the Salvation Army said they are looking to hire additional drivers, more employees for thr store, and most importantly, install a fence around the perimeter of the store to make sure dumping after hours comes to a stop.
