Annie Clifton of London, Ohio, was headed east on the roadway about 2:15 p.m. when her Toyota Avalon traveled off the right side of the road for unknown reason. When the vehicle returned to the road it hit an eastbound Chevrolet Cruise driven by Sandra Rice.

That collision caused Rice's vehicle off the north side of the road and into a ditch, where it rolled but ended up on its wheels.

Clifton's vehicle, which rolled and ended up on its top in the collision, continued to skid along the road and hit two other oncoming vehicles headed west on 29. The drivers of those two vehicles were not injured.

Clifton and Rice were taken to hospitals by medical helicopters. The extent of their injuries was not known.
