Unmarked Dayton police cruiser is rammed in head-on pursuit crash

A police pursuit ended with a head-on crash on Riverside Drive in Dayton, sending at least two people to area hospitals, according to dispatch records.

A police pursuit ended Thursday afternoon in a head-on crash in Dayton.

A blue vehicle rammed an unmarked Dayton police cruiser on Otterbein Avenue near Cornell Drive, dispatch records show.

Police initiated a pursuit, and the chase ended just before 2 p.m. in a head-on crash at the intersection of Riverside Drive and Ashwood Avenue. 

Two people were transported to area hospitals. The conditions and severity of injuries of those involved were not immediately known.

Several officers, including Dayton police, state troopers, and Dayton police’s internal affairs department were requested to the scene.
