REPORT: Woman in custody after fleeing police, climbing onto roof

DAYTON — A woman who had fled police earlier in the day was taken into custody Monday after trying to evade officers again by climbing on the roof of a Dayton residence.

Sheri Cantrell was detained on multiple felony warrants and for failure to comply, according to a Dayton police report.

Amanda Pace was reportedly also detained for a misdemeanor warrant.

Officers were dispatched to the 100 block of Grove Avenue around 1 p.m. Monday on a suspicious vehicle report.

Once on the scene, police confirmed that the 2014 Dodge Charger that was reported was the same one that fled a traffic stop around 12:25 p.m. Monday.

A witness directed officers to the house that Cantrell entered, according to the report.

Police were greeted by Amanda Pace and asked about the suspect.

Pace reportedly told officers that Cantrell was upstairs and not going to come down.

Police reported hearing banging around upstairs before a woman came downstairs and said Cantrell was going out on the roof.

Officers then surrounded the home before going upstairs and placing Cantrell in custody, read the report.
