Springfield Police respond to Speedway for a report of a holdup

SPRINGFIELD — UPDATE @ 3:05 a.m.:

Our crew on the scene reported that a Speedway on West North Street has re-opened after Springfield police investigated a reported robbery.

No injuries were reported in the incident.

It is unknown at this time whether the suspect showed a weapon or took anything from the store.

INITIAL REPORT:

We are hearing reports that a Speedway on West North Street was held up early this morning.

Scanner traffic indicates that officers are on the lookout for a male wearing black clothes and a ski mask who fled on foot from the gas station.

Springfield Police did not yet have a report if a weapon was shown or if anything was taken.

The incident was reported around 12:45 a.m.
