Report: 6th grade student in custody after bringing knife to Milton-Union school

WEST MILTON — Police and deputies are investigating after a sixth grade student at the Milton-Union schools building brought a knife to school Monday, according to a Miami County Sheriff’s Office report.

Deputies were requested to the school on Milton-Potsdam Road Tuesday after school administrators were notified the student might have brought a knife to the building Monday, the report states.

An investigation by the sheriff’s office and West Milton police found the student brought a kitchen steak knife and the child was placed into custody, the report states.

A request for comment from the Milton-Union district was not immediately returned.
