Preliminary exterior demolition of Good Samaritan Hospital begins

DAYTON — Selective, preliminary exterior demolition of the former Good Samaritan Hospital site began today, according to a Premier Health spokesman.

Heavy machinery could be seen Tuesday moving around rubble outside of one of the main entrances to the hospital.

There also were demolition crews pushing debris out of a hole in the side of the hospital.

The hospital closed in July 2018 and used to employ 1,600 people.
