U.S. 33 is back open following a crash that happened at 7:40 p.m. involving a Washington Twp. police cruiser and another vehicle.

The Ohio State Highway Patrol’s Marysville Post is investigating the crash.

UPDATE @ 8:20 p.m.

A Washington Twp. police officer was injured after his cruiser was broadsided tonight in a crash on U.S. 33 at Sunnyside Avenue near Russells Point in Logan County.

The officer, whose name and condition was not released, was taken to Mary Rutan Hospital in Bellefontaine complaining of back pain, according to the Logan County Sheriff’s Office.

The Washington Twp. Police Department posted on social media that it will provide an update when more information is available.

FIRST REPORT

U.S. 33 is closed in both directions tonight in the area of Sunnyside Avenue following a two-vehicle crash.

The collision was reported at 7:40 p.m., according to the Logan County Sheriff’s Office.

It is not clear how extensive damage is, and whether there are significant injuries.
