UPDATE: 1 escaped longhorn captured in Butler County, 2 still at large

FAIRFIELD TOWNSHIP — UPDATE @ 9:30 p.m.:

One of three Texas Longhorns that escaped their pasture in Fairfield Township has been captured.

Fairfield Township Police Department posted an update on social media stating “One lassoed and in custody and two to go.”

Sightings of the missing cattle should be reported to the Butler County Dispatch Center at (513) 785-1300.

INITIAL REPORT:

Police are working to capture three Texas Longhorns that escaped from their pasture in Fairfield Township.

Fairfield Twp. police are urging residents and drivers to use caution in the area of Morris Road, Hamilton-Mason Road, Tylersville Road, and Bypass Route 4 as officials work to capture the escaped cattle.

The cattle escaped from their pasture in the 7800-block of Morris Road, Fairfield Twp. police said in a social media post.

“The public is advised to not approach the cattle and motorists traveling in the area are urged to exercise extreme caution and keep a safe distance from the animals,” the post said.

Sightings of the missing cattle should be reported to the Butler County Dispatch Center at (513) 785-1300.
