UPDATE @ 3:12 p.m.:
A second police report from the same time, 1 a.m. Sept. 3, at the same location, 135 Cambridge Ave., shows a Javon Napier, has been booked into Montgomery County Jail on charges of assault and disorderly conduct.
In Napier’s arrest report the narrative entered by the Dayton officer states she was dispatched to the location for a person shot.
We’re working to determine if both shooting reports are connected.
UPDATE @ 8:36 a.m.:
A man has died as a result of a shooting on Cambridge Avenue this morning, according to the Montgomery County Coroner’s Office.
Marquel Walker, 24, of Dayton, was taken to the Montgomery County Coroner’s Office where an autopsy will be performed.
INITIAL REPORT:
Police and medics responded to a shooting in Dayton early Monday morning.
The shooting was reported around 1 a.m. on Cambridge Avenue.
