Man in critical condition after being shot in Dayton; police searching for suspect

DAYTON — A man is in critical condition after a shooting in Dayton Thursday.

Police and medics responded to the 100 block of Centre Street on reports of a shooting, Dayton Police Sgt. Eric Brown told News Center 7.

Upon arrival, officers located a man who had been shot at least once, Brown said. Medics took the man to Miami Valley Hospital.

A spokesperson for the Dayton Police Department confirmed the man is in critical condition.

A search is currently underway for the suspect, Brown said. Detectives have been on the scene speaking with witnesses to gather information.
