Greenville woman killed in crash on SR 121 in Darke County

UPDATE @ 2:40 p.m.:

One person has died Monday following a serious crash on state Route 121, according to the Darke County Sheriff’s Office.

Darke County deputies, Darke County Accident Reconstruction, Versailles Rescue, Gettysburg Rescue and Versailles Fire Department all responded around 7:30 a.m. to the 9700 block.

A 2009 Town and Country minivan, driven by Daniel Meyer, 45, of Versailles, was traveling south on state Route 121 while a  2001 Pontiac Montana minivan, driven by Kimberly Fugett, 42, of Greenville was traveling north of state Route 121 when they collided.

Fugett was transported to Wayne Hospital before succumbing to her injuries.

Meyer also was transported to Wayne Hospital for treatment and was released.

FIRST REPORT:

Police and medics are responding to a report of a serious crash involving two vehicles on state Route 121 just north of the Darke County Airport.

Scanner traffic indicated that this is a serious injury crash that trapped the passengers.
