Man shot in Dayton; Police investigating

DAYTON — Police are investigating a shooting in Dayton.

Initial reports indicate that officers were called out to the 700 block of Whitmore Avenue at approximately 7:51 p.m. on reports of a shooting.

Sgt. Creigee Coleman, Dayton Police Department, told our crew on scene that a man was sitting in a car when someone approached and shot him.

A male was transported from the scene to Miami Valley Hospital, according to Montgomery County Regional Dispatch records. His injuries were described as non-life threatening.

Police had Whitmore Avenue closed while they investigated the scene.
