‘They’re shooting!’: 911 caller describes robbery at Sam’s Market in Dayton, surveillance released

At least one shot was fired during an armed robbery at Sam’s Market on East Third Street in Dayton Wednesday night, according to a 911 call and witnesses.

Dayton police released surveillance video Friday morning.

Police were dispatched to the convenience store at 3501 East Third Street around 10:50 p.m. Wednesday after a caller reported two masked men entered the store with guns demanding money.

“They’re shooting! They’re shooting! They’re shooting! Oh my God,” a witness in the store stated in a 911 call, obtained by this news outlet.

One of the employees said when he moved toward the store's front door, one of the gunmen fired at least once while still in the store. Neither employee was hit by the gunfire.

The employees said they were standing behind the store's main counter when the invaders walked in, brandishing their guns.

The robbers reportedly took cash out of the register and fled the scene on foot.

Police have not indicated if they have any suspects or have bade any arrests.
