INITIAL REPORT

A criminal investigation is underway after a body was found Saturday afternoon in a dumpster in Kettering.

Kettering Police Public Information Officer Joe Ferrell said that the body was reported in when someone saw a pair of boots in a dumpster in the 500 block of Aberdeen Avenue.

“Somebody was going through the dumpster when they saw some boots, they realized the boots were attached to legs and flagged down an officer,” he said.

Ferrell reported that the body was found wrapped in a blanket under a pile of debris.

The cause of death or any information about the body was not yet available, as officers on the scene need to sort through the contents of the dumpster in case any of it is evidence.
