Man, 67, in critical condition after pedestrian strike in Dayton

UPDATE (12/31/18 @ 2 a.m): A 67-year-old man is in critical condition after being hit by a vehicle Tuesday evening, according to hospital representatives.

According to police, a black SUV reportedly struck a man in the 400 block of Dearborn Avenue around 6:30 p.m. and did not stop.

The man was initially in serious condition after being transported to Miami Valley Hospital, but is now listed as critical.

Family members of the victim said the man was on the way to his car after Christmas dinner when he was hit.

The man reportedly suffered several bone fractures and breaks that led to internal bleeding.

He was on a ventilator, but is now breathing on his own, according to family members.
