BEAVERCREEK TWP — UPDATE @ 12:30 p.m.:
North Alpha Bellbrook appears to be re-opened after crews were on scene repairing damage according to eyewitness reports.
A portion of North Alpha Bellbrook Road is closed until further notice, from Indian Ripple Road to Stauffer Road in Beavercreek Township, after a hydrant was damaged.
According to dispatch records, a vehicle struck the fire hydrant, and officials are concerned that the water flow may have eroded soil under the pavement.
Beavercreek Police Officer James Burton said that after the vehicle hit the hydrant, it broke it off of the water main. He said that he believed that the driver was impaired.
