Vandalia man killed in Huber Heights motorcycle crash identified

The motorcyclist  killed in Wednesday night’s crash was identified as James Hall, 42, of Vandalia by Montgomery County Coroner Dr. Kent Harshbarger.

UPDATE @ 10:50 p.m.

A 42-year-old man operating a motorcycle was killed tonight following a crash on Chambersburg Road between Stoney Creek Drive and Old Troy Pike.

The man, whose name was not released, was traveling east around 9:40 p.m. when he crossed the double yellow line, Sgt. Brian Carr of the Huber Heights Police Division said.

“It went to the other side of the road, was struck by an oncoming vehicle,” Carr said. “A bystander saw the crash, came up and began administering CPR.”

The man was taken to Miami Valley Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

Carr said he was not wearing a helmet, did not have a motorcycle endorsement on his driver’s license, and that alcohol was a suspected factor in the crash.

No other injuries were reported, and the crash remains under investigation.


A portion of Chambersburg Road is shut down tonight for a serious crash in Huber Heights.

The crash was reported around 9:30 p.m. involving a motorcycle and another vehicle.

Chambersburg Road is closed between Stoney Creek Drive and Old Troy Pike, according to Huber Heights police dispatch.

According to initial reports, CPR was in progress for one crash victim.
