BEAVERCREEK — Schools across the region have already announced they will not have class due to the dangerous extreme cold.

Stacy McNutt’s child goes to Beavercreek High School.
She thinks at some point it’s too cold for anyone to be outside — especially children.

“I would think anything below 10 degrees is probably not a good idea to be waiting outside for a school bus,” she said.
Both Beavercreek City Schools and Fairborn City Schools have announced two-hour delays on Tuesday.
Wednesday has not been decided just yet.
Beavercreek City Schools Superintendent Paul Otten said he spoke to county and city officials and thought it was best for student and staff safety.
Other schools in the Miami Valley, such as Dayton Public Schools, have remote learning days on Tuesdays.
“If they can supplement the snow days or days off for weather with virtual I think that maintains their progress,” McNutt said.
Marilyn Dues taught for over 20 years.
She worries about the kids walking to school or waiting for the bus this week.
“It’s painfully cold out there for people to stand and wait, especially children,” Dues said.
